Blarg! The move is going well but keepin’ me busy and tired. Last night a close friend went into the ER, though, and that pretty much shot the night. I’m heading back out now to get more moving done, then I’m going to try and grab a nap and get something posted. Only a little while longer and we’ll be back on track. =)
It’s a new month! don’t forget to vote! It really helps, and the start of the month is really important! I’ll post some cool art with this update. ^^; Thanks everyone for understanding!
Sorry for the lack of tones. Things might be a little flaky for the next week or two as I finish up the moving process. (Which entails a few more trips to Maine and Back to Virginia. It’s over 600 miles. @__@ ) Tones as soon as I can get them done. (But no more lack of updates!)
Lucas finally appears. At Connecticon’s charity auction, I auctioned a place in PL as a character, and Lucas won. It was initially a bit part, but he actually fits nicely into the story, so we may see more of him. ^^ At least enjoy him and the antics he’ll cause over the next little arc.
I are brain melty. x.x
--DavemonBack in Virginia, about a day later than I planned, but in one piece. Going to get the tones out now, then it’ll be time to jump right on the next comic.
Still a lot of coding I want to do as well, and I need to post a little new art. The cherry blossoms are awesome out here, maybe I’ll do something with a sakura theme.
--DavemonSorry for the lack of news and TWC art this week! Things are really busy around here as I get ready to head back to Maine. As I’m leaving in a few hours, the comic will be posted as line art for a day. Still up Monday 12AM, just without tones. As soon as I’m back, I’ll tone it up.
I’ll also post some new TWC art. Thanks for all the votes! It really does help. ^^
I’ve also got some really cool new features in the works for the site. A lot of this week was spent coding. Once I get back, I’ll be working to implement the new stuff. One of the first things will be the forums. ^^ Yay new stuff!
--DavemonIt’s interesting to write PL lately. The characters have always sort of done what they want to do. They’ve got their own personalities. Or maybe it’s just that I’m crazy. Either way, all the story arcs are all on a very rapid collision course, and it’s been a challenge trying to figure out which part to show when and where. The script keeps evolving, but I like it that way. It keeps things fun.
Now, for TWC this time around, I’m trying something different, and I need your help. Since the new addition of Mongo, our third cat, I’ve been drawing kittehs. (Click to see lots more!)
The idea was that I’d use these somehow. They’re completely unrelated to PL, but they’re a lot of fun to draw, and I keep coming up with new ideas for them just by watching the three cats and their antics. I have some more I’ll post later this week. The question I have is, would you guys like more of this stuff? I initially sketched these out while brainstorming for new t-shirt designs. Should I use these concepts for new merch? Another comic? Throw them out? Let me know! I might make them into stuff, if there’s enough interest. ^^
I have some site work to do this week, some minor redesign, and hopefully the addition of RSS feeds and forums (which are finally looking pretty good, I just need to finish up a few images). I also have a few other things I want to ramble about, so check back later. ^^ Oh, and comment or mail me some feedback! Hope you’re liking the comics!
--DavemonIt’s been a lot of fun putting Beerd and Nami back into the spotlight. Before long, all the crazy, winding story arcs will come together. If I can get enough support off the comic, I’ll be updating more than once a week. (It’s tough to read a story one page a week!) I’m still in the process of settling in and trying to work up enough money to pay the bills in Maine before I can start even thinking about making new ones here in VA. April is going to be a tough month.
Speaking of April, have some new TWC art:
Do you like Pokemanz?
This one is a colored pencil piece that I mean to re-ink and CG. This is the kind of thing that I’ve been doing at conventions for commissions. If you want one done, this is the time, before I get too swamped! I habs email, you know how it works. ^^
New site updates soon, and new arts. I need to tweak the newpost area a little more, and the sidebar. I also need to upload a bunch of new wallpapers. Gwah! I’mma get working on that now. And I’m determined to get RSS working here sooooon!
--DavemonBack from Anime Boston. Managed to get the tones done Monday afternoon, too. Nami and Weer’d Beerd are a lot of fun to draw! ^^
Speaking of draw, here’s some new TWC art:
The votes I’ve gotten from you guys blow me away! Thanks! I like this system of comics on Monday and art throughout the week. I plan to do a lot more drawing and color a lot of the art I’ve been drawing. I’m also thinking that I may put the old pieces on Deviant art (which is easily found at paradox-lost.deviantart.com.) There’s no art there yet, just a lot of PL fanart in the faves. If you draw PL fanart at DA, let me know so I can link it up. ^^
Anime Boston was good times. It’s been a while since I’d been there, and it’s gotten big! I’m really glad I didn’t have to wait in the super long lines! @__@ Thanks so much to Anime USA for asking me to come along with them, and to Brian Wilson for sharing some space with me in the Artist Alley. Also, much thanks to Kiki, Punkstara and Andi for helping me out by watching the table and getting much needed coffee and food!
The usuals were in attendance at AB this year. It was great to see the Dejesi, the Ayres Bros, Betina, Svet, Mookie, Kilika, Shew, Damien, Garth, Akikio and Li, Snafu Dave, Mr. Handyside, the Morlock crew, the Hendane crew, Jade Edge, Chris Dame (FANTASTIC art!) and a slew of otherse I’m sure I’ve forgotten. (Sorry!!^^; )
It was also great to meet some new folks. Dan Howard of Udon Crew (fanboy moment!) and his lovely table mate Luciole both have some really beautiful work. I also had some really cute sketches drawn in my sketchbook by Green Rapsody and Kaede-Chama, who does a cute manga called “Mahou Shounen”.
Whew! Hope those links keep you busy for a while. I’mma get back to arting. Check back soon for some more art, and thanks again for all the support!
--DavemonHeading off to Anime Boston! It was a last minute thing, but I’ll be there. The comic is drawn, lettered and assembled, and uploaded. It will post midnight Monday (Or Sunday if you prefer), and I’ll finish the tones as soon as I’m back.
Hope you’re liking the updates. Keep on voting! It really helps. ^^ I’ll have some new art when I get back. See you cats at AB!
--DavemonI hadn’t planned on going back into space with the comics for a while, but I really felt like showing some more Weer’d Beerd and Nami. Unplanned, but fun. ^^ New vote art. You guys have been so fantastic with this! I’ll keep pumping art out. It’s great motivation to draw. All of these sketches will be colored at some point, so keep popping in. Also, the old sketches will have a home soon so you can see them again.
In other news, it’s looking like I might be making an appearance at Anime Boston. Nothing set in stone yet, but it’s a good possibility. This means 2 things: One: AWESOME! Two: The comic might go up later on Monday or early Tuesday. Not if I can help it of course, but I just wanted to let you know. The other option would be to post filler, and well, this aint Naruto (though you wouldn’t know it from the amount of filler I’ve posted in the past.) It was pointed out to me recently that a lot of the art I’m a fan of was done by the same artist. This is prolly old news to most, but it was a bit of a revelation to me. Add Noizi Ito to my list of art influences.
Alright, I planned on posting more but I really need to run out and get some convention stuff taken care of. More soon, along with more art, so pop in again soon! And thanks for all the feedback on Sky Girls! I plan on checking it out really soon.
--DavemonHere’s some new TWC art. I’m still floored at how far you guys have taken this, it’s amazing and really helping. It’s also motivating me to draw a lot more, so keep p[opping in for more art!
So, I went to the mall the other day so Hikaroo could get some DDR in, and she played one particular song that really caught my eye. After a little research, I found this:
This looks awesome! Definitely got me into art mode. It’s the sort of style I picture doing a PL anime in. It’s also by Konami! It’s called Sky Girls, and there’s a TV series (which interests me) and an OVA which looks almost as cool. I have a feeling I’m going to need to track this one down.
