NEXT COMIC:  Saturday: # 15 - 06/21/03 - 60%                          LATEST NEWS:  Tuesday 6/16/03 11:03 PM

This has been a fun strip to draw.  Sam and Trent are back in the front seat.  I expect it to be done late Saturday or Early Sunday, as we have to do inventory at work.  Thank you everyone who's bought a shirt so far!  I recommend washing it inside out first time through.  They'll be available on the site soon!

Portcon was AMAZING!  I put up a small newspost to report below, more to come soon.

UPDATES AND NEWS:

Stage One: Press Start to Play

06/07/03

Wow, this one took forever.  The quality isn't quite what I was trying for, but it's one more step forward.  It just needed to be posted at this point, I could have seen myself working on it forever fixing every little strand of hair, every highlight, you get the idea.  Keeping with the gaming theme, we'll have 'stages' instead of chapters.

I've been up the past three days straight working on this to get it finished, so I'll make this a short post.  Portcon is coming up this weekend, and I'll be busy pumping out the art for swag and whatnot  I'll have a few prints of the chapter one cover above (in much higher res) if anyone wants them, and there will indeed be the eggplant t-shirts and mugs everyone has been asking me for.  I'll have a few other goodies, too, and I'll be trying to keep it as cheap as possible.  I hate doing the merch thing, but if it supports PL, then that just means less time at work (my primary time sink) and more time drawing for you.

Friday at 3:00 Nami and I will be holding a panel on manga, and from 5:00 to 8:00 Ukyo will be joining us in a Webcomic panel.  I'll pretty much be at my table the rest of the time, though if I get the chance I'll mill around a little bit to try and see the other guests and artists too.

The plans for Otakon have been finalized, I have a table reserved in a great spot.  More on that soon as well, as there may be other surprises in store.

Huge thanks to Julie for that last guest strip, it made me laugh each and every time I looked at it.  Also huge thanks to Nami and Lisa for all the support in getting this last piece up.  Those guys are infinitely patient, going so far as to call me in the mornings to wake me up and tell me to draw or just sit with me and keep me company, keeping the coffee flow going while I plugged away on the art.  It means a lot.

Working

06/12/03

I just got a chance to see one of the test prints for the shirts!  The printed version of the above image looks SO much better since it's such a high res!    I'll be working late tonight on more art for the con.  Not long to go now!  If I have time I'll post something new, too.

Welcome back from the Desert, Josh! XD

WOW!!!

06/16/03

Thank you everyone for making me feel so welcome, I fricken LOVE you guys!  I'll post a full review with many pics soon, until then, check out Julie's archive.  Thank you everyone who bought swag to support PL, anyone who had me draw a pic or just came up to talk, you really made the con one of the best ones ever!  I'll try and get to all of your e-mail as soon as possible (there are so many! ^^;; )  And, if I didn't get to you for a drawing, just send me an e-mail, I'll make it happen.

The shirts that were at Portcon will be available on the website very soon, and I'm happy to announce they'll be much cheaper than the prices at Cafe Press.  HUGE thanks to Craig, I owe you one for making those up on demand in less than a day!

Nami and I are unbelievably worn out.  I have many emails to go through, and I plan on posting a much more descriptive report of the con and panels soon, complete with Pictures.  Thanks to PL Press Corps, Weer'd Beard and Twinbee for all the great pics, and to everyone who helped out, especially Julie who ran the entire con!  Thanks to Brrrrrrt and Ukyo helping me out with everything and for running around like crazy people with me.  Thanks to all the Staff who helped make us feel so welcome and accommodated us with everything we needed at our panels with such short notice.  Thanks especially to the PL fans who came to see me!  I had no idea how many of you read this!  You ROCK!

And to a certain Kenshin, you ran a brilliant art section!  You did a wonderful job with what was provided to you, and you made the con a whole lot more fun for all of us.  Considering everything you had to do with only one other person who was awesome enough to volunteer to help and a tiny amount of space which grew tinier as the convention hall's evil minions screamed of brimstone and fire hazards, you still managed to pull it off.  A lot of artists were really happy to have a place to sit and draw, and they were constantly telling me so.  In fact, our fan art gallery here at PL grew immensely because they DID have a place to draw!  I'll be adding it al to the gallery very soon.  I was also very happy with the space I had.  As a guest you made me feel very welcome and you were extremely helpful.  Thanks, Dani.  I owe you better art at Otakon.  See you soon!
